Dr. Taiye Ayoola-Adedeji is the author of the interactive bilingual (English and Yoruba) book The Yoruba Sound Book for Children. She will engage children in fun cultural activities include music and play about the Yoruba people and culture. She engages children in using Yoruba words for colors, animals, foods, greetings, and seasons.

Motivated by a collective desire to unravel possible family connections within Bowie and surrounding Prince George's County communities, four individuals join forces to explore historical and familial connections within the African American community and links with surnames such as Spriggs, Stewart, Barton, Diggs, Weldon, Johnson, Duckett, Clark, and Norris.

Wine & Jazz Festival

Join us for the 2024 Wine & Jazz Festival on the grounds of the Marietta House Museum! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Listen to local popular artists including AJQ Plus 1 Jazz Ensemble, and The Lovejoy Group. Local vendors will be onsite with food trucks, artwork, and crafts. This year, meet a line up of romance authors during the festival too!
